Prayer is always the best place to start❤️
But… why limit God’s response? What if therapists, medication, etc. are the Lord’s way of answering a prayer?
Depression is not a sign of weak faith anymore than a diagnosis of asthma, diabetes, etc.
Depression (like any struggle) provides an opportunity to lean into Jesus. God is merciful and gracious.
We live in a sinful world not void of suffering. I’m thankful we have Jesus who understands and partners with us in our suffering. He suffered for us first and we have hope through Him. He has promised He’ll always be with us. His promises remind us that the trials of this world are tempory. “I consider that what we suffer at this present time cannot be compared at all with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18
...”for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
Hebrews 13:5
Philippians 4:19
“And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
2 Corinthians 4:16–18
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
1 Peter 5:10
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
Revelation 21:4
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Jeremiah 31:3 “The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever

you go.”
Psalm 36:7
“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”
Romans 5:5
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
