I’ll Be In My Comfort Zone

My Thoughts for Today:
Comfort zone? I don’t agree with that term.
We each have a unique personality and temperament. Sometimes asking someone to get out of their comfort zone is an attack on their very being.
I used to put pressure on myself to “get out of my comfort zone.” After countless efforts to “get out of my comfort zone” it never became easier. Instead, I was left with anxiety, self doubt, and loss of self esteem. I’m quite confident that one of my first acts of self love was to accept my comfort zone.
I was never meant for big parties and mingling. Large groups make me uncomfortable. I’m overwhelmed with a bunch of friends and want just a few.
That’s okay because I see things other types of people miss. I was made to make others feel seen and heard. I’ll sit and listen to a person’s life story with interest and concern. My heart is full of compassion for loners, outcasts, and those out-of-the-box types. I’m the most loyal and intentional friend.
I will welcome anyone in need into my comfort zone. However, asking myself or others to “come out of their comfort zone” devalues their individuality.
Honor yourself and others for the unique goodness each shares best. God doesn’t make carbon copies. We need each other.
